Guys! Unless you’ve been living in a hut for the last 3 months, you’re probably well aware that the 80 Day Obsession workout by Beachbody is has launched!
If you’re not familiar with the workout, it’s an 80-day program focused on abs and booty (but obviously targeting full body as well). While I haven’t done the workout yet, I’ve seen some of the results from the test group that went through it last year and as you can see, they’re pretty awesome.
In full transparency, it’s not the workout alone that drove these results. They also changed their nutrition and followed the food program that comes with the workout. This is critical as you simply can’t exercise your way out of a bad diet. It doesn’t work.
The best part about 80 Day Obsession is that it’s a home-based workout, and you only need a few pieces of equipment. You can buy the equipment bundle through Beachbody (it doesn’t include the workout or nutrition guide), but you’re much better off sourcing these items on Amazon.
- 3 sets of hand weights (a set of light (8lb), medium (12 or 15lb) and heavy (20lb or heavier)
- Sliders (these are amazing for working out AND moving heavy furniture)
- Workout bands (these are much less expensive than the ones Beachbody sells.)
Now, you can certainly buy the whole kit from Beachbody, but if you can get it for less, why not? You can try the supplements designed to help you through the workouts, or you can opt out of that and just invest in the workout and nutrition guide which is on Beachbody On Demand.
This is a digital library that you have year-long access to with all the workouts Beachbody has ever produced, that you can stream from your phone, iPad or laptop (or smart TV if you have one). It’s like having a Netflix gym where you can wear anything you want to workout. At $100 USD for the whole year, this is a screaming good deal.
In my opinion, Beachbody on Demand
is the best way to get the full experience of the workout program and nutrition plan without having to invest in the supplements and gadgets.
If you do want to experiment with the supplements, I recommend trying the Performance line
as the pre-workout really helps you bring your bests in your workouts. I’ve tracked my results and I definitely burn more calories with the pre-workout. The cool thing with Beachbody On Demand (BOD)
is that you can track your calories being burned during the workout by syncing the app to a Wahoo Heart Rate Monitor. Such a great tool for tracking and staying motivated!
