  • Dearest fellow people-pleasers.  We need to work on this tendency to put others before ourselves because it's just not serving us, or making us happy... ⠀

If this is you, I implore you to think about who you're really trying to make happy.  If it's someone else - let me tell you, that's a futile effort.  If it's you, then how can you know what really turns you on and lights you up if you're always trying to please others?  This is a no-win game.  Trust me,  I know from experience.⠀

If you want to work on your #peoplepleasing tendencies, start with showing up even if you're afraid of judgement.  Do you and start letting go of naysayers and the perceived judgement of others.  I wish I had taken this advice 3 years ago.  I'd be so much further along today if I did.⠀

I’ve started to see where I’m playing small and with the help of a coach and a trusted group of peers and friends - it’s finally starting to shift.

Life is too short to play small my friend.  Do the work to question your thoughts and you’ll start to notice how powerful you really are. ⭐️🌟⚡️💥

PS, this kind of #woowoo stuff used to frustrate me because I didn’t get it.  If that’s you, be patient and open.  The more you grow and understand your #trueself, the more it starts to make perfect sense ✨❤️✨

The cure for this?  Push through.  It’s simple, but not easy. But I do find that the more I successfully push through, the easier it gets.  Attention is just another muscle to work on! 💪

  • I got a little ranty in my stories today because I really dislike fitness professionals that prey on our vulnerabilities to sell false promises.  So here’s a few #truthbombs for you:

Strength training won’t make you bulk up unless you are training specifically for that result.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You cannot get #longleanmuscles from “special” workouts.  Your muscle length is driven by the length of your bones.  You can’t change that. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Leanness comes from a good balance of exercise (strength + cardio) and good nutrition.  Honestly, it’s mostly about what you eat. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There’s no exercise that is bad, wrong or destined to make you hulk-like.  Movement of any kind is good.  But the most dramatic transformations come from consistent, balanced workouts, good nutrition and plenty of sleep and stress management.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If someone is telling you they have a special workout that “won’t bulk you up” but will make you “longer and leaner”, it’s bullshit marketing. ❤️
